In the precision casting of alloy buttons, the creation of silicone rubber moulds is the core process that determines the final product quality. Below, we break down the complete mold-making procedure to help you achieve high-precision replication.

Start by carefully embedding the button sample into the mold base. After placement, apply even pressure to ensure the silicone material fully wraps around every texture and corner of the sample. This step is critical for guaranteeing clear details and defect-free products after demolding.

Next, place the central iron rod into the middle of the mold. Evenly dust the sample surface with a layer of ash powder, then use a high-pressure air gun to quickly blow away excess powder. This both isolates the material and keeps the cavity clean. Install fixing nuts along the mold edges and press again to secure the structure. Then, cover with the second mold layer, mark a cross on its surface, and precisely expose the previous iron rod.

Carefully align the upper and lower layers to ensure perfect coincidence. Take an appropriate amount of mold material and fill the surrounding grooves in preparation for subsequent casting. To locate the center, use a multi-arc cross-intersection method, and draw a circle slightly larger than the iron rod at the center. After hollowing out this circular area, meticulously repair the center point—this will serve as the future inlet for molten alloy.

Finally, proceed to repair the third mold layer and thoroughly trim the mold edges. Every step in this sequential process is interconnected, and rigorous execution at each stage will directly impact the final alloy button’s forming quality and surface finish.
