Molding Tutorial for Shoe Ornament/Shoe Cuffs: Silicone Rubber Mold Tooling Process
In the centrifugal casting production of shoe ornaments and shoe cuffs, mold tooling is the most critical step that determines final product precision and yield rate. A well-designed mold and proper vulcanization directly affect the detail clarity and demolding smoothness of silicone rubber shoe accessories. Below is our standard mold tooling workflow to help you master this core process.
Step 1: Assembly & Vulcanization
Place the carefully assembled mold into a flat vulcanization press. Vulcanization is the core of silicone cross-linking and curing—strict temperature and time control are essential to ensure complete reaction and achieve optimal hardness and elasticity.
Step 2: Overflow Prevention & Release Treatment
During vulcanization, to prevent rubber from overflowing along the parting line under high heat and pressure, we use paper or specialized films as barriers. This ensures no adhesion between the rubber and the metal mold base, laying the foundation for smooth demolding.
Step 3: Precision Demolding & Engraving Finishing
After vulcanization and cooling, carefully separate the upper and lower mold plates. Demolding should be steady and vertical—avoid forceful prying that might damage cavity edges. The final stage is refinement: trim flash and sprue gates, then use engraving tools to finely contour the product edges, restoring the three-dimensional patterns and detailed textures of the shoe ornaments and cuffs.
